Top 10: PC Games Based on Movies
Adapting movies into the digital world is not an easy task, but luckily the film and PC games are cousins, brothers. While at risk of not achieving the magic that took the tapes of 35 mm, many pc games were able to move us as much as when we gooey popcorn, sitting in the chair of our favorite room to see the famous work of a director. Because we love the cinema madly, here are, in PCGameTrek - 2010 PC Games Magazine UK, the 10 best PC games of movies.
The family game that everyone would like to have as neighbors. It was hard to choose our character! What have been the global trend? A full-fledged arcade, which had to run and kill (What else do we need?). With all the familiar characters from the series, lots of jokes and winks to the audience yellow loving family. Even today we remember each screen, each scene of the nonexistent Springfield, which although not actually located on any map, known as the palm of your hand. Combining powers of individual members of the family, did not feel a deep bond with the unknown subject we had playing at our side?
When the cult of violence is digitized. Titles like this make us think “How long that Clockwork Orange becomes a PC Game?”. Staining our screens with blood of warriors most violent and marginalized of society, try to prove the innocence of our group while secretly want to become owners of New York. Gangs such as football teams clash in a game that ties are not welcome. With the seal of Rockstar, the familiar characters and brilliantly acclimated streets took us to one of the movies that awaken our urban side, rebel fighter. Do not mess with my friends!
The great wild beast. I confess that the film King Kong (the 1933 original and the remakes of 1972 and 2005) gave me a little embarrassed. The giant ape seemed about to say “I love you” to her blonde named Ann Darrow human obsession. Besides being the only show whose entry would pay anything to see (can you imagine having a gorilla in front of her huge chains?), His Skull Island full of dinosaurs, scary and horrible indigenous bloodsucking insects, which became my favorite animal hero. Even if it is hard to tame, the adventure was well worth it to live in a digital format. Think you know about so small … I’ve grown!
4) Ghostbusters: The PC Game: What would you like to work when you grow up? … The Ghostbusters! A trap for catching ghosts, a dematerialized Ectomovil and a spear-ray is all that we want Santa to leave us under our Christmas tree. Ghost hunter work was our childhood dream. With characters identical to the protagonists of the series (with its leading voices on loan) Ghostbusters was one of the best digital adaptations detached from the big screen. Maybe it was a game that did not meet our expectations, but nobody can deny that a flood of memories we Ochentosos tears filled our eyes with nostalgia. Sticky … miss you!
5) Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis:
The beautiful adventure PC game made. After Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Lucas Arts gave us this magnificent work of art that is immersed in the adventures of the archaeologist and professor at Marshall University Henry Walton Jones Jr. Fedora, whip and leather jacket (and a stir when appropriate) are our tools to begin the adventure in search of those secrets that can change the course of humanity. Indy is the exact mix of wisdom and boldness. As his parents George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, we also had the ability to guide their way into one of the best “point and click” of history.
6) Spider-Man 2: The thrill of the spiders. Few PC games gave us a sense of speed on high as those who had the Spiderman protagonist. We could almost feel the wind disheveled as we flew our cobwebs hanging. While one felt comfortable confronting characters and climbed into the buildings of the city that never sleeps, Spider-Man 2 was a solid enough game to not really need a movie. But since Sam Raimi brought us to the young arachnid, we could experience what fun it would be bitten by a genetically modified spider. And sadly it can be to miss a girl like Mary Jane …
7) Aladdin:PC Game: 16 bits of fantasy flying carpet. Just a matter of rubbing the lamp and let out the genie that we fulfill our desires … and that genius is called Disney. Create characters that become beloved by the public and then go to work the great machinery of merchandising. First the movie, then toys, mugs and PC games. The good thing to bring the digital world to the cartoons is that the atmospheres and accurate characterizations of characters and locations are secured. Many times the title has changed to sequels, prequels and twists and turns of the scripts that we saw on screen. The stories are kept alive forever in our consoles.
8 ) Goldeneye: Killing with style. Goldeneye PC Game was without doubt one of the best PC games that Nintendo had 64. Getting in the detective’s skin 007, with license to kill and surrounded by beautiful women is a risk that any of us would unhesitatingly. A great adaptation with graphics that show really solid beginning to a highly entertaining gameplay and the feeling on the skin of British dandy hero par excellence. Even Queen must have fun with this title! Special weapons, and we poured action dresses smoking among high society … What more can you ask a simple 64-bit console?
Escape from Butcher Bay: The escape from the darkness. Conceived as a prequel to what was the movie The Chronicles of Riddick, Vin Diesel it took control of the game that explains the origin of his murderer-hero character, Richard B. Riddick. It is a powerful dose of action that brought us into the inner world of the protagonist. Inspired by games like Half-Life and Splinter Cell: Escape from Butcher Bay taught us how much damage we can do with just our two hands. A metaphor that is the pursuit of freedom, the escape of our internal prisons that took our light. Dynamic and deadly, like all PC games should be.
10) T2: The Arcade PC Game: Shooting the future. To this day I still think that the future of humanity was in my hands (or my finger pulling the trigger of that shrapnel stuck in front of the screen arcade). Terminators appeared from all sides for the sole purpose of eliminating the human race, in an apocalyptic future where a young John Connor was transformed into the last hope for the planet. A unique experience that let us pick up a gun (with full sound, and vibration that carries weight … and the responsibility, obviously) without fear of being observed. When will my bodyguard from the future? How he wanted to look into the eyes of my enemy at school and say “Hasta la vista, baby”!
Best PC Games
There are other titles that were brought successfully to the screen of our computers. We can quote: Avatar PC Game, The Return of the King, Saw PC Game, Star Wars, Enter the Matrix, Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper, Friday 13, etc.. What about you what you think of the best pc games based on movies?

Well that’s a great article, liked it:)
I also want to add the worst adaptation to pc game: Beowulf PC adaptation
Like the film, the game includes the exploits of this hero who fought the demon Grendel and his mother. It is a fighting game in the third person. In my opinion that is wrong in this game are the graphics. Characters are not as well call it, might be called orthotics.
When you must fight enemies hope not grab a buzz, if you can call it that, with the dizzying movement of the camera. The fighting is too chaotic, repetitive and total keyboard bashing. It may be a better combo than another.
In short what I really think this game is a very bad adaptation of a pretty decent movie, and the game has made it misspelled the name of Beowulf.
I was thinking, mortal kombat and stree fighter alos had movie adaptations. In some of them I dont really know if they are adapted from movie to game or from pc game to movie!
Saw the movie was great but saw pc game is the most difficult game I have ever played, although I played it a lot I could not pass some levels, very very difficult yet interesting contols for pc. But the bloody movie was good:)
I also love the AVATAR movie but Avatar pc game is an ordinary pc game, it is like you are playing the same thing again and again, it is like some old times classic pc games, but should not be published such a pc game in 2010…
King Kong and Saw would be my picks.
Why are games based on movies do not succeed?
Games and movies, cinema and gaming, two industries increasingly united but that fail to work well when they merge, or at least not as well as separately. We refer specifically to the film adaptations of video games, an idea carried out many times but usually not very successful. Recently the developer Cinemaware (creator of famous games for the Amiga computer) explained in an interview with PCGameTrek portal in your opinion why this problem occurs for many years.
The company’s founder, Bob Jacob, declares that it is a matter of time. Since a film begins to occur until it opens in theaters about a year passes, completely insufficient time for a game of real quality. The results are clear, dozens of mediocre titles that capitalize the duration of the pull of the film. Apparently the only solution is to involve many people in the project to perform a heavy workload in a short time (as you can Electronic Arts), because otherwise it will create a lot of game, - says Mr. Jacob.
Unfortunately I fear that this argument is true and largely responsible for the mediocrity of many games based on movies. However there are exceptions such as “The Chronicles of Riddick”, but remember that was created by Starbreeze Studios, creators of a true genius gems like “Enclave” or “The Darkness”. Well, we know that the rush is not good but in this business to save time translates into money, even at the expense of losing quality.
I’d love to recommend the Simpsons arcade as its really a fun game to play

Games based on movie can’t be look down you know? This remind me of Wolverine which I like it very much. Maybe I’ll anticipated Riddick, the movie seems great. But I don’t know about the game yet.
I should say that it is very important for people who need this information thanks
Games based on movies have greatly increased in quality over the last few years and now they are something gamers can actually get excited about instead of cringing when they are announced
Computer games have evolved from the simple graphics and gameplay of early titles like Spacewar!, to a wide range of more visually advanced titles
I will choose The Chronicles of Riddick 1st. I like this game very much, it has a great story. Rest of the games I’m not sure, I didn’t try all of them.
