Doom 2010 (PC) By Activision
Doom is back, and what a comeback it is by Activision. The previous had the audience and the gamers all around the globe mesmerized with its stunning graphical sci-fi representation of the future. This one uses a heavier and far better 3D engine to design the environment, the best part being that it does an excellent job at it.
The game is a first player shooter where you are a space marine of the 22nd century without a name or a voice. The details of the 3D environment are awesome and so realistically unrealistic. The game places as you as a problem solver for the Union Aerospace Corporation, the problem being forces of hell. The weapons that are at your disposable from futuristic models of machine guns, shotguns, to those of rocket launchers and the like. You are supposed to single handedly fight off the monstrous obstacles and complete levels to finish the game. On the normal difficultly level an average player can finish the game in about 15 to 20 hours which is a good lengthy piece considering other first player shooters.
THE LOOPHOLES
The game is however not that fascinating and get a little dull after a while, considering the hero being without any identity. This is one reason the game lacks out on the story line part which is supposed to be the main area of expansion when we take into account the success of one player shooter games.
Also is the striking similarity which the monsters share with their ancestors in the previous versions. It seems like deliberate attempt by the developers to maintain the old monster structures. The narrative of the entire game is also not that impressive. There are moments where our hero has this ghastly and sudden flash of past or something that the future holds which do keep the gamers on their toes but then again a break comes due to lack of a proper story.
Doom 2010 is being rated somewhere around an 8 by various game critics and the consumers seem to agree. What don’t try it out and form a personal opinion?

Another point to monitor are the system requirements, which although high, are not as distant as originally thought, and in a PC environment is able to function acceptably. On the other hand, the multiplayer, after seeing the latest work, id be disappointed. Very basic and simple, although Doom 4 2010 has always been characterized as a game focused on personal experience and not as a group.
Well, 5 years later, here we have the baby. Preceded by a huge hype, Doom 2010 meets the expectations and is seen as one of the titles of the year, stunning graphics, immersive, scary and all its own identity in the series. And perhaps that is where you can only blame their shortcomings, repeated without innovation mechanics view already 8 years before and abuse the formula of exploring - you scared - mata - salt level.

Some people don’t like the monsters but I think the crazy designs make it cool and interesting. Classic Doom action, good stuff.

Two of the most anticipated games of the moment are Rage and Doom 4, and these creations of id Software will demonstrate the true potential that the company holds, at least that explains Pete Hines, Bethesda VP of marketing.
In an interview with MCV, Hines is very happy with the work of id Software: “They bring a wealth of experience and knowledge in the genre of first-person shooter. Having a group like id working as an internal study to Bethesda is a tremendous advantage. I think what they’re doing with Rage and Doom 4 will show the world their true potential, “says Pete Hines.
RAGE will be shown at E3 and we have had a chance to see it in action a few days ago. For its part Doom 4 is not expected to show up to QuakeCon in August.

Only being 15 years old and having been exposed to this game all my life.. it has been a great experience playing some of the original games or the greatest era. It is great to know that this game will comtinue to live on. For all of you that don’t know Doom originally came out in 1993, so to be playing it in 2011 is a great experience to me
