Red Alert 3

The original Command and Conquer – Red Alert for PC has arisen in 1996. After that there have been 3 expansion packs: Counterstrike, The Aftermath and Yuri’s Revenge until the year 2000.

After seven years EA (Electronic Arts) released the new Command and Conquer – Red Alert 3.

It is a real-time strategy game for PC that you can play with friends cooperatively! Finally my dreams come true! I was always thinking of building a team with friends and compete against some other people. It is something nice to see that the developer is trying something new and challenging with the game.

The biggest problem for most people is co-op Story mode. Some missions are too easy, too heavy or just right. I have to say that some particular missions are like impossible to beat for me! There is a little balance problem between the missions but you can change the difficulty level on mission basis so you can solve that problem.

I should also note that the game mentors say that it is better to play with the Soviets at the beginning.

Since Soviets are stronger than Allies, it is easier to learn the game and understand everything better. They have the best tanks and weapons in the game. You should enhance a very good strategy to beat up the Russian side.

The graphics in the game are so good in the game. All the units, tanks, weapons, ships and even the water are extremely detailed. The music is also very nice; it makes you turn up the volume.

You will also see some celebrities in Read Alert Three: Jonathan Pryce, Jenny McCarthy, J Simmons and Gemma Atkinson are some of them.

The game has a large content and completing the 3 campaigns can take more than 15 hours of play.

I personally prefer to play in the skirmish mode but you can play in the multiplayer mode with friends. If you go online you will see thousands of players to create a team or play against.

I think Red Alert 3 is an exceptional real-time strategy game, which will satisfy its fans.

I think this game is good because the graphics are good but a little childish. The scenario for each nation is not bad. I will give 8 out of 10 to this. But it remains my favorite game! ;)

I meant that some missions are very easy and some others are extremely difficult!
    Thanks for the comments :)

Though I didn’t have much fun with the campaigns and found the friends-only co-op play very limiting, there is something worth looking at in the versus mode. Only a classic skirmish is available, but thanks to the interesting units and factions, Red Alert 3 can offer up a decent gaming experience.

Nowadays we have much better RTS games in the market but Command & C was the first to introduce the genre of r-t-s so it’s never dull to play this game as a kind of retribution :)

Maybe you don’t know. Westwood are the creators of C&C and Red Alert not E-A, and Dune was there first Real Time S game, wich was for the computers and even back then they made some cinematics. Westwood are truly the Creators of R-T-S for short, then years later… starcraft came by blizzard.

Yes, now it’s good to see the time line when these games first came out, when they hit the public so strongly and what has become of them. I remembered high school friends and even university friends getting crazy about this game. I have never tried this but I think it gave them something to be kind of addict with it.

I practically grew up playing Red Alert. Now that I think of it, the graphics looks rather ridiculous but hey, I spent a good number of hours on it.

After which comes StarCraft, which, in my opinion is the mother of all real time strategy games. Saw RA 3 sometime back and actually wanted to get it before realising that my laptop will never get it running.

A pity really. Had to contend myself with the demo at the store. heheh…

Based on what I’ve read, Red Alert 3 has received good reviews. This is a case, from what I can tell, of good improvements over the original. A game in real time with the ability to play with friends are additions to a video game that make it much more enjoyable. I would recommend this game to those new to video gaming as well. I’m especially pleased to see that the visuals and the graphics are so well done. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, without good visuals and graphics, a video game doesn’t stand much of a chance, especially with those who play a lot.

How cool to be able to play with so many online friends!

Tried to get into RA2 and just couldn’t….I think when they started to put in giant squid and dolphins it just went to absurd. I still play RA1 to this day (its on my work computer, so lunch breaks are filled with war :D ) Damn, I’m getting old….

Command and Conquer, really is a great and exciting game to play. Me and my friends use to play a multiplayer game in the internet cafes and it was really entertaining and it was the Red Alert 2 version. As we can see Command & Conquer has produced many great strategic game and it did brought up out of our best strategic skills.

In Yuri’s revenge I remember it was an expansion I think and it was a really cool too and with this new game Red Alert 3 there would be lot of new exciting things to discover and experienced. In the single player game there would be a greater challenge and sharpen our strategic skills in defeating the opponent and really much more in the multiplayer game.
