Star Trek is one of the most recognizable franchises in television, literature, cinema and of video games.  So it is not very easy to meet its fans expectations with a new pc game.
For countless fans, there is no decent Star Trek since the legendary Judgment Rites, which recall his magnificent limited edition back in 1995.

The most obvious problem of developing a game based on a popular franchise, is attempting to make a product that is as faithful as possible to what the huge base of followers seek or expect.  Experiments with it have almost always come out bad, so when Mac Doc and Bethesda, the creators of the fantastic and misunderstood by many Oblivion, is set to work to create the Star Trek: Legacy, many of us were rubbing their hands waiting to depart something worthwhile, but might perhaps again we find another pc game to stop going without penalty or glory for our screens. 

Beware of your fleet.  Not be able to save during a mission, so if you fail, you have to start over again.
We forward that this time the effort has been tremendous in terms of the most popular representation of the series, masters and surroundings, something that any Star Trek fan will welcome.

Star Trek in Three Generations
Legacy shows all the generations of Star Trek, beginning with Captain Jonathan Archer’s Enterprise, through Kirk, Picard, Sisko and Janeway.  All located in their respective time lines and the ships and enemies appropriate to your time.
We have over 80 aircraft spanning the 3 generations of stellar fleets (Enterprise, The Original Series and The Next Generation) ranging from small and nimble scouts, even the battleships and destroyers powerful.  Always play as the master and pilot of the flagship of his time, following the thread of the story and adding new ships to your fleet during the course of missions.

Only four ships will lead to the same time, so it is strategically important to the choice of getting them, so you can balance your group characteristics such as speed, attack power and defensive capabilities.
Strategy + Action
Legacy is a unique hybrid of action and strategy.  In fact, it was but by the possibility of having four ships and handle our mini fleet, would rather play an action game in any order.  I had always imagined battles between space ships as something akin to the battles between submarines: slow and tactical.
Mad Doc is approaching this by maintaining an unbridled and exciting action, framed in a style of play that requires a great deal of strategy and using tactics right.
Klingons, Romulans, Borgs and other threats coming out of the Star Trek universe as vulcanian, are present in this area Legacy. ”

The interface is really intuitive, something that surprised me personally.  I assumed I would be a sophisticated, twisted and complicated system to control access to ships and their capabilities, but the truth is that I could not be more wrong: only takes you to make a small tutorial to help you with the controls.
Wonderful Control System
The combat is incredibly simple because of the wonderful control system implemented. When you walk into an area infested with enemies can select the nearest enemy, or display a list of all the adversaries, and choosing one of them by a couple of keystrokes.  Once done, the camera automatically rotates to focus on the enemy, but you can change it manually.  In this view you can fire your phasers and torpedoes.  The phasers are short-range weapons can be fired at 360 degrees, whereas the torpedo weapons are to be used only when the enemy we face.
The enemies have powerful armor and shields.  First you need to throw down with their shields and phasers, once done, your helmet with torpedoes to bomb until they fly through the air.
Of course our enemies are not the only ones to receive damage.  We and our fleet, we receive a lot of damage throughout the fighting.  Can view the status of our fleet can select their engines, helmets or weapons and repair them.  Though drastic need of repair or reload torpedoes, you should look for a repair station.
You command four ships at the same time, so it is strategically important to get your choice to have a balanced attack and defense.

Campaigns
As for the missions are varied finding exploration missions, escort or direct confrontation might be difficult on many occasions, we have to think quickly and try new solutions.  For example, in one mission you have to face more than 50 ships Romulans.  In my game there was no way to stop them, even using the power of my four ships, but close vulcanian had left a detachment to which I could get help and stop the Romulans.
Surely it is better for the campaign, narrated by a solid captain, so that all Trekkies will enjoy the beauty.

Technical Point
We face a very nice pc game graphically, the menus are simple, easy to navigate and has tried to move the entire aesthetic of the series.  Once in the game (campaign) we will use the mission briefing scenes generated by the engine of the game.  Ship models are exceptional, both in the number of polygons used in the exquisite detail textures offer capable of displaying multiple levels of destruction on the hulls of ships.
The epic Star Trek has landed in the full Xbox 360 and PC.  If you choose the platform on which to live, no doubt the console version is noticeably more robust and manageable.

The planets are varied and have a realistic appearance, while being able to appreciate its slow rotation.  The lighting effects are quite good too.  Not reach the level of X3 Reunion, but certainly grated high.
Sound
As we said before, the game features the voices of the original casting at all  and the sounds are used in the series are  wonderful, not to mention the soundtrack with the usual cuts composed by Rob Abernethy and Jason Graves.

If you like Star Trek Games, first of all I would recommend to download and play Star Trek Legacy Demo, then decide to buy it or not. Star Trek Legacy is a good game that can entertain anyone, but certainly will especially delight any Trekkie.  It has a playing time around 15-20 hours of campaign mode, skirmish mode a lot of fun, 5 different factions and over 80 ships from 3 different eras, which bind to an intuitive control system, a technical achieved and many opportunities online.  The negative aspect of their PC version, it has a number of problems in the control that significantly hampers its playability on certain occasions.
