ValuSoft a division of THQ Gaming has an impressive word games collection that is called Boggle – Upwords – Hangman – Word Hunter Collection. A very long name indeed, but lists all the games that are included in this package. All the games are timeless classics and familiar to most.
With Boggle you make words by using connecting letter cubes. The longer the words, the more points you receive. The game is timed and is divided into rounds, all of which is configurable. There is also 3 fun game modes like Big Boggle, Time Limit and Challenge Cube. Boggle is without a doubt what of the best words game of our generation.
Upwords a game based on Scrabble, only you can play the letters on top of each other to get more points and make completely different words. The higher you stack the letters, the more points you will get. This was one of my most favorite games growing up and I was glad to see it included in this games collection.
Hangman is a very basic game where you guess a letter in the alphabet and if the letter you choose doesn’t appear in the puzzle then a part of a body appears around a noose. If you miss to many letters then you will have hung the man and lose the game. A great game for children and adults alike.
Word Hunter reminds me of a Pogo game called Word Whomp. This is another timed game where you are shown 8 letters and must make as many words you can with those letters in the puzzle. The more words you make, the more points you receive. Longer words also will give you more points.
What really impressed me with this package was that all these games can be played with 2 players, either locally on the same computer or over the home network. Of course you still have the option for a single player game against the computer, but it is always much more fun playing against another human.
If you are a word game fanatic this is a must have PC game. It runs on Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista. The computer requirements for running this game are very minimal and should run on any system. There is no demo version of this game available, but it is cheap at only $9.99. Great games yar todays review is best of all rest . Becuse i love playing these games , like scrable game i am playing it in real from my childhood and love it playing on my computer also . will try other games too they too are intersting.
I love the hangman is a very basic game, but better for me to guess the letters then to know how to spell them… lol

Agree that “wordhunter” is similar to “word whomp “which i played on pogo.
It’s interesting to see that THQ would be catering for casual gamers, rather than working on titles that generally appeal more to the ‘Hardcores’
However, casual games have been getting more of a market share, and of course, I guess the publisher has moved with the trend. Perhaps this development with word games would encourage and have more casual gamers, especially with a multiplayer function.

Thans for the article, I have played many word games but the best one that I am addicted to is a game called “WORD MOLE” that I founf in my B&B Black Berry ! Is that posible to find the same version for PC ? If it is available I gues it must be the top best online games ever
