World of Goo PC Game

If a game has caused great expectations in recent months that has been World of Goo, which looks very simplistic and terribly addictive concept has managed to woo users of all ages. Its launch has been conducted in our labor market City Interactive, in a nice cardboard sleeve edition with the juicy price of 29.95 euros, 45.00 USD to appeal to casual users and veterans alike. And in a very short time has carved a niche in the market that we predict will grow significantly in the coming months as word of mouth among the players work.
Gameplay

World of Goo is one of those titles that starts with a simple premise to delight and engage from the first minute of play and for hours on end. It is the first product of these characteristics, but the fact is that developers, the guys at 2D Boy’s small company, have succeeded in giving an identity to his proposal. This brings us to the colorful land of World of Goo, whose inhabitants, particularly curious beings, they need our help to save.

The gameplay of World of Goo is simple but addictive. Using the mouse we are able to interact with the goo, beings into a ball of different qualities. Moving around the stage, always under certain limits and range of motion, we need to overcome barriers and get the goo to their destination (usually water). The physics are endowed with the goo that is most realistic, so to control and that the position does not move us all from falling to the ground, we will have to give a little to the head. And it’s not an easy game, because although the first levels have no great secrets, as we move forward we will find ourselves with very complicated challenges. They will have to take the goo to a destination, building bridges and structures, or use their skills to overcome an obstacle and move forward. Not easy, but the truth is that no matter what we will get stuck for minutes (sometimes hours) to overcome their screens. The more we move forward more afraid of it were over.

Fortunately, there is short (5 long chapters with lots of phases) and has a global scorecard on which to try to make our mark to become the best player on the planet. It misses the Wii cooperative multiplayer mode, but no longer just a bonus.

GRAPHICS

The atmosphere is loaded with color, but also has a simple style that does not need frills to highlight. Drink of the concept created by titles like LocoRoco, would undoubtedly have jelled with the public, and presents a series of nice and simple characters with whom you admire them soon. Besides the designs, highlights from the stage careful and intelligent manner with which you have placed obstacles and created levels. It is noted that manual work is a team that has enjoyed for many years with video games in the genre.

MUSIC & SOUND

Regarding the soundtrack and sound, although they also have a lot of personality and help to give character to the proposal, remain in the background. Doing excellent work and provide greater density accompanying the goos, which never hurts.

CONCLUSION

In the PC version lacks the cooperative mode of Wii, and a level editor would have been to the hair (probably for the sequel), but it remains an excellent game. That yes, you must be looking for a title which will test your wits and patience, and where to advance you should show all your skill and intelligence.

Those who prefer something more direct, or a product that harnesses the potential of its computer should find another game other than this one. Because World of Goo is a witty and entertaining game, but will not spin the power of our machines (nor necessary). Your script is not no big deal, but considering that this type of gaming history are passed by the lining, we with a song on your teeth, seeing that the components of 2D Boy have devised a story line for their adventure.

Video games sold in computer less and less, and for many, their future is only on consoles, leaving the PCs for online games or role. Of course there are many others struggling to keep order, taking steps to support the market once carried forward to the game industry …
